Born in the Mithapur area of Patna in April 1964, renowned Ophthalmologist of Bihar Dr. Sudhir Kumar needs no introduction. Dr. Sudhir’s father, Shri Jaipal Prasad, who was an auditor in the Patna Defense account says that he had not even thought that his son Sudhir, who grew up playing in the lanes and by lanes of Patna’s Mithapur area would later become such a successful and renowned doctor. Working as an Associate Professor in the Department of Ophthalmology at Nalanda Medical College, Patna, Dr. Sudhir Kumar was a talented student since his very childhood. Sudhir, a student of the Kendriya vidyalaya, located in Kankarbag area of Patna passed his 10th examination in 1979 and got admitted to the I. Sc. in the Patna Science College in 1981 and in this very year Sudhir got enrolled in the Patna Medical College i.e. P.M.C.H. also recognized as a very meritorious student, Sudhir studied whole heartedly in the college and obtained an MBBS degree from this very college in the year 1987.
