Born on 13 June, 1972 in Patna, Dr. Rahul Thakur is a well known name in the field of medical sciences. Born in Araria District, a native of Bhima village, Dr. Rahul Thakur attained his primary education at Saint Michael’s High School and he passed class 10th in 1998 and plus 2 in 1990. In the same year he qualified for the M.B.B.S course and took admission in Mahatma Gandhi Memorial Medical College which comes under Ranchi University at Jamshedpur and obtained M.B.B.S degree in 1996. Dr. Rahul reached Dehradun to attain higher education and in 2004 he did P.G in Paediatrics from HIMS (Himalayan Institute of Medical Sciences).
Worked as a professor in Paediatrics department of Nalanda Medical College and Hospital in Patna, Dr. Rahul’s father and state’s famous paediatrician Dr. Akhilanand Thakur wanted his son to create a distinct identity of his own in the field of medical sciences. Dr. Rahul respected his father’s feelings and along with paediatrics, with an intention to obtain special training in Neonatology he went to UK in 2005. During his stay in England he worked with U.K’s famous National Health Services. Moreover, he underwent higher specialist training in paediatrics and neonatology from U.K’s Royal Albert Edward Infirmary in Wigan and England’s famous Fair Field General Hospital in Bury, Manchester
