MBBS, MS ( General Surgery) ,MCh (Urology) FRCS ( Edin,UK) was born on 27th June 1957 in Maroli village in Gujarat. He completed schooling from Hansraj Morarji Public School, where his father Dirubhai Desai was a Primary Teacher . A brilliant student , he did his MBBS and in 1983 ,M.Ch in Urology from B.J Medical College ,Ahemedabad , joined the same college as Head of Urology Department where he still serves in the same capacity . Recipient of several honors such as Dr. B.C Roy , IMA’s Dr. AKN Sinha National Award and the ‘President’s Gold Medal’ Award of outstanding contribution to Urology, Dr. Desai despite attaining great success is a simpleton at heart that brims with compassion for the deprived people of the society. Dr. Desai has headed many medical bodies and associations and as a member done great service to the healthcare department. Dr. Desai has had the privilege to serve as the youngest President of a Medical Council of India and later the President of the World Medical Association in 2016. He is currently a member of Gujarat Medical Council and is involved in transforming many lives at the grassroots through his profession as a Doctor.
